MALWARE MAYHEM

Hi everyone, have you ever had one of those dreams where it was hard to distinguish between real life and dreaming?  Well, this one was quite the rollercoaster while I was dreaming that both my computer and iPod got infected with malware, and it was so annoying  :|

 

*Old Dream - April 25, 2017

When trying to use my computer, I noticed all the desktop icons changed and the background wallpaper changed to a reddish brown gradient.  It sort of had the feeling of "inevitable doom"/"being in Hell" :|  

As for my iPod, I dreamt it was the next morning and grabbed the device from under my bed like I do in real life, but when I turned on the screen all my icons were gone and there were some new ones in their place.  

The iPod background also changed to a reddish brown, kind of like the computer screen, but there were My Little Pony ponies in the background too (that was unexpected!).  I remember seeing at least three ponies; a blue one (standing), a purple one (standing), and a white one (in a sleeping position with its head resting on the front legs).

I freaked out and told my husband about it.  He found it amusing, but knew it was a big problem.  I also told him about the computer and it seemed like he knew what needed to be done. 

Then I "woke up" again, and thought, "phew!", just a dream.  I grabbed for my iPod as usual, but it was the same pony image as before :(  .... This time, I was prepared and said to myself "it's just a dream, this is not real".

Then I "woke up" yet again, and of course I grabbed for my iPod to confirm it was just a bad dream, but to my sad discovery, the pony background was still there!  Same image and icons; I even tried connecting to the internet, but I couldn't type in any website as the letters didn't register properly (because of the malware).  

I couldn't believe my eyes :O  Was this for real?!  I was starting to believe it really happened, and I told my husband again and showed him how it's all ponies when I try to do anything on my iPod.  

I also showed him the computer which was still infected.  He kept asking me about the sites I went to and I told him I didn't visit any weird sites and that I had no idea how it could have happened.  He was skeptical, but had no choice but to believe me since I'm a really paranoid person and wouldn't visit strange sites except maybe by accident.

Then, once again, I "woke up".  This time I made sure to check for "realness".  Like touching the bed, and walls, and anything I could get my hands on.  Everything felt good to me and my thoughts seemed normal.  I was relieved to be finally "awake", so I grabbed for my iPod and to my horror, there were ponies everywhere! :O  

Then I saw my husband, and asked him if I had told him anything about my iPod recently and he said "no, what about it?".  So with that, I really believed it was indeed real life and accepted the fact that I would have to factory reset my iPod and computer (as I figured it'd still be infected too) :(

Then I woke up, for real, for real.  I almost didn't want to check my iPod in case it really was infected :|

I did not enjoy all those false awakenings at all since I was repeatedly faced with infected devices (one of my worst nightmares).  I've had to factory reset my computer at least three times in the past, and it never gets any easier to deal with :|

DON'T LET GO!

 Hi everyone :D  

This one is a bit long, and may get confusing at a point, but hopefully I explained things enough to make sense, lol.  Also to note, I am more of a viewer  rather than participant of this dream until close to end.

 

*Old Dream - February 5, 2017

A friend and I was watching a TV show about 2 police officers; one was a woman and the other was a man.  They went to a financial agency to discuss borrowing a large sum of money which got approved.

In the next scene the policeman who borrowed money was frantically telling his colleagues that he saw on the news that the policewoman got shot through the head.  A colleague of the policewoman was devastated and wished she never referred the money loaning place.  Then she started wondering whether the policewoman could have survived.  Since the bullet went through from below the eye and out the back of the head on the right side.

Next scene showed the policewoman lying on a wooden floor in handcuffs but alive and without any bullet wounds.  There was also an unknown man beside her who was also in handcuffs.

Both of them started waking up and orienting themselves.  The policewoman and the man introduced themselves to each other and started chatting.  The policewoman told the man that she is a cop but that she wanted to start a new life away from the crime and danger so she faked her own death and hired people to "bury" her.  The man sympathized with her story.

Then one of the hired guys came in and took the handcuffs off saying they were on for safety purposes during transportation away from their hometowns since they were in coffin boxes.  Both the policewoman and man got up and started following the hired guy to talk to the boss who was supposed to give them instructions on how to proceed.

When they got to the boss's room all the hired guys seemed really friendly and thorough; dusting off wood chips from the policewoman and the man.  

Then the boss started talking to them saying he understood why they chose to run from their circumstances, but really in his mind, they were just abandoning responsibilities without the willingness to face consequences.  

At that point the boss motions to the hirelings and they started putting the handcuffs back on the policewoman and man and they were dragged out of the room. 

Next, we see the two of them in a room hanging for their life by the skin of their teeth, literally!  Because they were being hung above a very deep well full of alligators and the only thing between them and falling to their deaths was a piece of rope they were biting on.  However, that wasn't even the worst part.  

The worst part was that their lives also depended on three strangers who were above them being hung upside down by their legs, and they were the ones holding onto the lifeline rope for the bottom two with their teeth! 

** Describing the scene again in a different way in case it didn't make sense. Imagine two people standing upright looking up and above them there are three people upside down looking down and all of them are holding onto a single piece of rope between their teeth, while the top three are hanging by their legs.  Now remove a circular section of the floor and add a water with a bunch of alligators at the bottom of a very tall drop (I hope that helped for visualization and sense making, lol) **

Now back to it... 

Fortunately for the bottom two all of the people on the top wanted everyone to survive so none of them ever let go.  But how were they gonna get out of the situation?  

Time passed and they devised a plan; to swing the bottom two people to one of the the sides of the well so they can get on top of the ledge.  Seemed like a risky plan but somehow it managed to work, the bottom two got out and helped the top three.  Then all of a sudden light music starts playing and I (as the viewer watching the show) recognized it as the Peter Pan theme.  

Animated characters then floated out of the well and said they will help the five people escape the place.  Then they all float away and the episode ends.

And then I "woke up" to realize I fell asleep watching the TV show and thought how silly the ending was in my dream, but then moments later, the show did end the exact same way like in my dream :| 

My friend told me that while I was asleep, I hummed the Peter Pan theme and she thought it was funny until she saw how the show ended.  I told her about my dream and she thought it was really weird how it matched the show.  Then I noticed how late it was getting and told her I needed to head home.

I hopped onto a bus and then I woke up for real.

HOME SWEET HOME?

Hi everyone :D  This one might be a bit of a confusing read, but hopefully it makes sense enough, lol.  

 

*Old Dream - November 20 2016

I travelled to an unknown location and there was a big house.  I had to stay there for a while.  My father and sister were also in the home along with some unrelated kids.  In the beginning things were okay even tough I always had a weird feeling about the place.  

Later on strange things started to happen and it turned out there were ghosts (small haunted dolls) that were making mischief and I had to get rid of them.  I managed to talk a few of them into leaving the house but there were two that had to be put into a mini fridge to stop their antics.  One of the ghosts didn't like being in the fridge though and pleaded to be let go, it threatened that things would get worse if I left it in there.  

At first things were good, but then things got really strange.  One night my sister was talking to me and had to go to the washroom.  When I was walking up the stairs with her to the washroom I saw another copy of my sister standing in the washroom already using the sink :O  

My sister that I was walking with didn't seem phased, maybe she didn't notice and just did her business and left the washroom.  So I left the area too, and then to my right coming down the stairs from the third floor, another copy of my sister.  And then just a little ahead of me standing inside a room; a third copy of my sister :O  

All of the copies of my sister looked at me when passing by, but they never looked at each other as if they couldn't even see one another.  It felt like I was seeing my sister from different dimensions all at once.  It was a very strange feeling, and I wanted to get out of the house, but before that I wanted to check the ghosts were still in the fridge.  When I opened the fridge only one of the ghosts were there :O  The one that was gone popped up behind me and asked if I wanted to leave the house (with multi-sisters), I said yes, I want it back to normal.  

I closed my eyes for a quick second, and after opening them, I saw I was in the same house, but everything was different, like furniture, people, wallpaper.  There was a mom and her two kids, and when I started talking to the mom, it was as if I had known her a long time because she was really friendly and not afraid of me.  

She told me of her kids' obsession with robot toys and said they had a gigantic collection.  She even let me open all the closet doors and draws to see the robots which were mostly transformers.  I was thinking my husband would have been in heaven to see that collection, lol.

After looking at all the robots I had to leave the house since it wasn't my place anymore and when I left I realized it wasn't the same year I was living in before.  It was some time in the past, maybe 1960's, 70's (I saw the date somewhere but can't remember exactly where).  

After roaming around the streets for sometime I bumped into some "friends" (pretty much some teens that knew me but I didn't know them).  We hung out for a while talking about things like school and what to do next.  It was a nice time, but I knew I had to find a way back to my real home and that was when I woke up.

Being in the house with multiple copies of my sister was one of the weirdest dream experiences ever.  But exploring the drawers with all the toys was one of the funnest, lol.

What would you guys do if you saw multiple versions of someone you know all at the same time?

THE MAGIC WITHIN

Hi everyone :D  I really enjoyed this fun fantasy adventure dream.  It was a nice break from the usual, lol.  Hope you enjoy too!

 

*Old Dream - September 19 2016

I was an anime character that had magical powers and whenever I used the magic, a gem stone would appear on my forehead.  The gem was the main source of my powers and was removable while it was out (a fact that will be relevant later on).  I was travelling with at least one other person who was the main male character (I don't remember what skills he had or even his name, lol).

We came upon a town that was being attacked by monsters so we (me and the main character) decided to protect the people.  The monsters ran away pretty soon after the fight started.  The town's people wanted to thank us by allowing us to stay and enjoy their hospitality free of charge (even when buying supplies! :D)

However, the town was ruled by a "Queen" who wasn't as nice or thankful.  She said since I was an "outsider" I had to leave my powers with her while on their grounds.  Though in reality it was because of a couple of reasons:

1. The "Queen's" personality wasn't the best nor sincere so her magical powers weren't as strong as mine and she felt threatened.

2.  There was a male character (not the main male), who the "Princess" wanted to make into her Prince, but he was seen talking to me and so she got jealous.

I wanted to stay for a while and my travel companion also wanted to explore a bit so I gave my gem up for holding.  The one thing she didn't know was that if I used enough of my own energy I was still able to use magic even without the gem, but it would just take a lot out of me. 

When night came, there was another monster attack on the town and I (without the gem) used protective magic on the people to shield them.  The "Queen", not thinking about anyone else just ran and hid to protect herself even though she had magic powers too.  She even saw the monster about to deal a deadly hit to the main male character and still did nothing :|  Thankfully I used my magic to shield him and he was able to finish the off the monster (phew!).

Magical powers are always fun to play with, yes?  Although I used mostly protective spells it was still a fun time and it's always nice helping people :D

As you may have noticed, I kept using quotation marks around the words relating to royalty ("Queen", "Princess").  That was because I didn't feel they were fulfilling their roles properly so I didn't dub them so, even though the dream did, lol.

PLAY TO MEET

Hi everyone!  Sorry for such delays, this month had been so busy :O  Anyway, continuing on with the gaming theme (like the previous entry), I headed into another gaming competition, and met another guy, lol.  Enjoy!

 

*Old Dream - May 17 2016

There was a big gaming competition going on and I met a guy named Rob while attending the event.  His gamertag was "Muttle something", I couldn't remember the second part.  I learned that he was a small time gamer until he got really good and became one of the top-ranking players worldwide.  

The game itself was rounds-based and was very random in terms of what was needed to win each time.  In short, every round had it's own objective.  

Eg.  One round was to grab a special item and keep it in your possession the longest.  Another round dealt with words and sentencing, and you had to keep judges entertained.  

The player's HUD display would start as a four-sided diamond shape then change into a hexagon after ranking up enough.  I found that really neat!  

I played the game quite a bit too, but wasn't as hardcore even though I was good enough get first place during some rounds. There were also competitions where scores were tallied after a set of rounds (like 10 rounds) and you only scored a point if you won the round.  

Rob and I didn't know each other too well, but we sat beside each other during the competition and talked between rounds and helped each other out (even though he was already top-ranking, lol).  He also wanted to hangout after the current round, and I said yes :)

Thanks for reading! :D  Gaming dreams are always fun, lol.  Sometimes I wonder if any of the game mechanics I've dreamed about have become reality?  Especially since there've been so much advancement in technology and programming. 

CHAT TO PLAY

*Old Dream - May 15 2016

My sister signed up for an online chatting service.  It was for people to meet each other either as friends or for starting relationships.  There was a catch though, it was a gaming chatting service where chatting helped to unlock game/boss areas, or make them easier by getting rid of obstacles.  I didn't know about that until after I did a bit of chatting myself.

There was a time when my sister left her computer on but had left the room for a very long time without telling the guy she was chatting with so when he was messaging asking where she was I decided to message back so he didn't have to keep wondering and waiting.  I told the guy my sister was busy at the moment and will come back later.  The guy said thanks and asked if I wanted to chat sometime.  I said okay since I figured it might be a good way to snoop on the guy for my sister, lol.  

The chat service was interesting in another way because all the chats were public so you could look at conversations as they going on and then request to be part of the chat if you wanted to.  Though most members knew to stay away from chats between two people, as a courtesy.  The site was pretty overwhelming seeing all the convos going on but then when I started the chat with the guy, it was okay.  I could ignore everything else.  

We started with chats about the usual topics like name, and location.  His name was Tim.  When I asked where he lived he showed me a world map with the city highlighted.  It was a place southwest of Toronto.  It was cool to find out he lived nearby.  

Then we got to chatting about other things like why he was using the service.  He said he was just trying to meet people, find new friends, play the game.  That's when I found out this was a game-chat type thing.  He said the more you converse with someone, the easier the game levels become.  You can go in yourself, but you'd pretty much get killed all the time.  As well, the game always restarted at the last level that was beaten by the "host" player.  So pretty much he wanted to chat some to weaken the stage and then start the game (chat continues, of course, lol)

After chatting for a few days he asked if I wanted to try the game and I agreed.  The game was quite pixelated and it was a dungeon-type stage with stone walls and floor. And there was a dragon monster in the center of the stage.  It was kind of hectic with stones falling around us and the stage shaking since we didn't chat too much to rid of those obstacles but it was fun.  We were each controlling a knight that could jump and fight with a sword.  We died in the end, but as a first time it was a decent run, and we had a good laugh.  We got squashed by falling stones, lol.  

Then I told him I had to go, and he ended the session with a custom pixel animation of a "vampire-like" figure coming and bowing with a cape in front of his face and then disappearing into floating pink petals.  I thought it was really cool :D  

The next day he told me an event was going to take place the following day where chatters could go and play the game in real life.  I was like, "really?"  (He was serious.  I was wondering why he didn't ask my sister, and I was feeling weird since I was married, but it seemed like a unique opportunity).  I told my sister so she could come along too if she wanted.  

There were many people at the event area, we decided to meet at a nearby restaurant.  I thought it was gonna be weird meeting in person, but it wasn't.  He was a bit taller than me, a little plump and round, with short brown hair.  We shook hands and introduced ourselves; his name was Tim (as mentioned previously). Then we starting getting ready for the game.  The event was for "couples", so only sets of two could register.  It didn't mean you had to really be in a relationship with your partner.  

The objective of the event was to get the most points by the end of the stages. All participants were fitted with fighting gear (padded armour, gloves, helmet, and a sword).  About 4 couples were sent in at once.  

The same monster we fought while on the computer was on the first stage, so I was hacking at it and things were all good until my partner got killed by a team mate :O  I went to him and was crying because I couldn't understand it.  Then the guy who killed him came back and killed me saying they don't care who they have to kill, they just wanted to win :(

So me and Tim were lying on the floor dying, and the dream faded out for a moment, then faded back showing a victory party happening for the winning couples being catered to by the losing couples.  I didn't know of this condition :| 

As the night winded down and people start leaving, Tim told me there's a special training booth where we can preview all the game monsters.  He was angry at those jerks for killing him off, so he asked if I wanted to train for the next time so we can kick those jerks' butts, and I said "of course!" XD.  He said even though it was such a rough start, he still had lots of fun and was happy to meet me.  I said it was nice meeting him too :)

Then the scene fades for a moment and I "wake up" seeing my sister chatting at the computer...?  I was confused.  I asked her if she had ever left the computer so long I had to reply for her and she said no, she never leaves for more than a few minutes while chatting.  Then I asked her what day she started chatting.  She said Monday.  It was currently Thursday night.  

So after piecing it together, it seemed I was "chatting" with the guy only in my dreams since Monday (if that makes any sense).  It all felt so real :|   But I was relieved because then it meant I didn't steal my sister's potential boyfriend, nor did I "cheat" on my husband.  Not that we kissed or anything anyway, it was just a friendly meeting.  But you know how it would look, lol.  

Then I woke up for real.

If you managed to get through that, thank you!  I think a game-type chatting service would be really fun and neat.  I was really blown away by the "vampire" outro from the guy, and to this day still remember how it went.  I wish I could have recorded it, but 'tis the dreaming life, lol.

MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS

Hi everyone, this dream is written as two parts since I don't remember how I got from one to the other.  It's also quite weird in my opinion, but I feel there is much to get from it, lol.  

 

*Old Dream - April 9 2016

First part:

Me and my sister went to the same school and shared a locker, but one day when I was looking for a specific blanket in there I couldn't find it.  Then my mom pops up and says she moved it back home because the blanket wasn't good enough.  The blanket was good enough to me though because it was fluffy and warm. I kept telling her to bring it back and she said no.  She brought me a new blanket but I didn't like it and was yelling for my old blanket.  Finally she said I could take it back if I could find it again in the house.  

 

Second part:

I was in school and was listening to a guest speaker in a large room with many other people attending as well.  There were some kids beside me and when the lecture was over the kids were still there because their parents didn't come to pick them up yet.  I told them I'd wait with them.  There was also one other guy who seemed to be sleeping in a chair, maybe he got bored, lol.

Eventually the kids' parents came and I was free to go but I was stopped by the speaker because he saw what I did and was hoping I'd be willing to help out with a presentation session for learning valuable skills the next day.  I agreed, though on second thought, maybe I shouldn't have.

I was in charge of setting up a mushroom-themed kitchen.  I needed a fridge from the speaker's place as well as set up a sink with shiitake mushrooms for faucet handles, and an oven that was mushroom-shaped.  I also needed mushrooms for decorations :O 

I was in the middle of looking up how to complete the mushroom setup when a woman burst through the lecture room doors saying she needed help from the speaker.  The speaker followed the woman as she ran across the school yard then suddenly she sped off behind a wall and pulled out a gun. 

When the speaker caught up to her, he though she was gonna was going to hurt someone so he quickly wrestled with her for the gun which she thankfully dropped and then she started to explain herself.  

Years ago when the speaker attended a lecture, there was a scholarship giveaway and he was the one who got the winning slip, but since he didn't need it he gave it to one of his students that happened to be the daughter of the woman.  As she was attending the lecture too, she saw that her daughter accepted the scholarship meaning she was gonna go to this school and the mother did not like that one bit and so she came out for crazy revenge.

I must say, I have no idea what this dream was trying to tell me, if there was any deeper meaning to this, lol.  The only common connection to both parts is it was dealing with mothers trying to get what they want versus what their children want.  But can that really be all?  Seems like a convoluted way to send a message, no? lol.  And what were all the mushrooms for? XD
